Buying an EV in Bayside?
Garages are common and home charging is the norm from Brighton through to Beaumaris, so packs here usually test well for their age. Salt is the local qualifier: cars parked close to the bay pick up corrosion around fasteners and high-voltage connector housings, and it is far better found before it becomes structural.
A lot of Bayside EVs are genuine low-kilometre second cars. That is a good starting point, but a car that has spent two years plugged in at 100% is not the same as one driven and charged sensibly — and only the pack data separates them.

Do you inspect at Nepean Highway dealerships?
Yes, regularly. Dealers along the belt are used to independent inspections and we arrange the access ourselves. If one refuses an independent inspection, that is worth knowing before you go further.
Does salt air affect an EV?
It does not touch the battery chemistry, but it accelerates corrosion on fasteners, subframe mounts and high-voltage connector housings. On an EV a corroded HV connector housing is a safety item, so we check it as standard on cars parked near the bay.
