Buying an EV in the east?
Cars here tend to be second vehicles doing short local distances, often garaged, often barely run in. Low kilometres are a genuine plus, but a car that spends weeks parked at a high state of charge is not being looked after simply because it is not being driven. The pack data separates a well-rested car from a neglected one.
Salt is the constant. From Bondi through Bronte, Clovelly and Coogee, corrosion turns up around fasteners, subframe mounts and high-voltage connector housings well before anything is visible from the cabin. On an EV a corroded HV connector housing is a safety item, not a cosmetic one.
Parking is tight and much of it is on-street. Kerbed alloys, scraped bumpers and tight-garage door dings are common, and all of them are negotiable — provided you have them costed in writing before you make an offer.

What we see here
What the east hides behind good presentation.
Salt corrosion
Fasteners, subframes and HV connector housings on cars parked within reach of the water.
Long idle at high charge
Low-use second cars often sit plugged in at 100%. That ages a pack faster than sensible daily driving.
Tight-parking damage
Kerb rash and door dings, costed in the report so the negotiation runs on numbers.

New to EVs? Start with the battery health guide and the used EV checklist.
Does living near the beach damage an EV?
Not the battery chemistry, but salt air accelerates corrosion on fasteners, subframe mounts and high-voltage connector housings. We check all three as standard on coastal cars, and the report photographs anything found.
Is a very low-kilometre EV always a good buy?
Not always. A car that has spent long periods sitting at 100% charge, or at a very low charge, can test worse than a higher-kilometre car that was driven and charged sensibly. We measure state of health and cell balance rather than reading the odometer.
Do you cover Double Bay, Rose Bay and Vaucluse?
Yes. The full suburb list is above, and everywhere else in the eastern suburbs is covered with no call-out fee.
Can you inspect at a dealership in Bondi Junction?
Yes. We book the access ourselves and inspect on the forecourt. If a dealer refuses an independent inspection, that is worth knowing before you go any further.
